Explore the ethical foundations of yoga and learn how to bring them into your daily life, relationships, and spiritual practice.
The Yamas: Exploring the Yogic Ethics & Embodied Living
In this immersive workshop, we’ll explore each Yama through the lens of modern life, social justice, personal healing, and mindful embodiment. Expect accessible yoga, meditation, journaling, and community dialogue that help you integrate these teachings on and off the mat.
This class is perfect for anyone seeking deeper meaning in their practice, tools for navigating life with more yogic clarity, and/or ways to root their spirituality in compassionate action. Register now at Absolute Yoga Studio. Can attend virtually or in-person.
Join local poet, author, and activist Erica Settino for an intimate event drawing from her poetry chapbook, The Life Forest, a collection exploring her late-diagnosed autism and ADHD, reverence for nature, and the wild roots of creativity. The gathering will be conversational, educational, and experiential.
We’ll begin with selected readings and an honest discussion about neurodivergence, identity, and reclaiming creativity as a means of personal expression later in life. Then we’ll move into a gentle, guided mindful arts workshop where you’ll be invited to create from your own inner landscape—no artistic experience required.
All are welcome.
April 19
10 am-12 pm @ The Vanderbilt Museum, Centerport, NY
$25 Aduts & Youth 11+/$22.50 Members
You’re invited to a free community event with me and my friends at The Calling Bell in Huntington, NY, where I will be reading from, and signing my new poetry chapbook, The Life Forest.
I so hope you will join me as I share about the process of creating these poems, what they mean to me, and how my later-in-life diagnoses continue to shape my relationship to myself, and all living beings.
This will be a low-pressure, neurodivergent-affirming event. You’re welcome to come late, leave early, step out as needed, stim, move freely, or just listen. No participation is expected or mandated. Questions and/or quiet are both welcome.
All are welcome. Come exactly as you are.
Limited copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event. You can also order directly from the publisher here.
And for those who aren’t local, or can’t attend in-person, mark your calendars!
